What is PROBUS? PROBUS is a local and international association of clubs that provides retired and semi-retired professional and business people with regular opportunities to meet for fellowship, hear guest speakers, and enjoy social activities. The name PROBUS is a combination of the words Professional and Business, reflecting the diverse background of our members who have transitioned from their careers into an active retirement. |
About PROBUS Toronto South |
| PROBUS Toronto South was inaugurated in April 2026. As a standard PROBUS club, it is both non-political and non-sectarian. It functions as a non-profit group that does not engage in fundraising. Membership fees are kept low to ensure they only cover the actual costs of operating the club. The club fosters social connection through monthly meetings featuring guest speakers, member-led interest groups, and various group outings. To help everyone get acquainted, all members receive an official PROBUS name badge. Our club is successful when members volunteer their time and talent to drive activities. |
Monthly Meetings Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, except in July and August. The agenda includes club business updates, a guest speaker, and time for member socialization. Gatherings take place near Queen St. E. and Broadview, in the Riverside neighbourhood. | Interest Groups Interest Groups offer activities for members and function as a club within the club. Any member may start a group based on a specific hobby. These groups meet regularly and vary in size depending on the venue. There are no formal attendance requirements, and most groups have no cost to join. | Social Events The Social Committee organizes various events and activities such as theatre, music, sports, and dinners. Outings are coordinated by individual members. They provide opportunities for the membership to participate in local excursions and group cultural activities. |
